Dr. Faxiang Qin visited the Center for Smart Materials and Structures (CSMS), and gave a talk about Metamaterials and Applications: Ferromagnetic Microwires Enabled Multifunctional Composites.
Biography
Dr Qin is now a RA at ACCIS, Bristol. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lab-STICC, Universite de Brest, France. He received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Bristol in 2010 with a nomination for a Best Research Thesis Prize. He was awarded a master degree in Materials Processing at South China University of Technology in 2007 and bachelor degree in Materials Science at Beijing University of Chemical Technology in 2003. He has a diversity background in Materials Engineering, Chemistry and Physics. His recent activies focus on development of self-monitoring composites, microwave absorbers and peculiar soft materials for electromagnetic applications.
