Biography
Dr. Jiaze He is a tenured professor in the Department of Astronautical Science and Mechanics at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Prior to this, he served as an assistant professor in the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics at the University of Alabama, a postdoctoral research associate in the Theoretical & Computational Seismology group at Princeton University, and a research scholar at NASA LaRC, an adjunct assistant professor in MAE at NCSU. In the United States, he was a PI for five NSF/NASA projects, including an NSF Research Infrastructure Improvement Fellowship. He is also a committee member of the ASME Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnosis & Prognosis Division (NDPD). He was Chair of the Congress-Wide Symposium on NDE & SHM at 2023 ASME IMECE. He served as a topic organizer/session chair/student competition organizer at international conferences such as SPIE Smart Structures & NDE、QNDE、ASME IMECE、SMSS, a grant reviewer for NASA and the Office of Nuclear Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy, a peer reviewer for 21 international journals, as well as a book reviewer in the areas of structural health monitoring and artificial intelligence for Wiley Publishing. He has also been on multiple committees in the advanced manufacturing sector, including the Additive Manufacturing Operations Working Group (AMMO) of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the Joint Additive Manufacturing Working Group (JAMWG) of the U.S. Department of Defense, the Additive Manufacturing General Data Dictionary Working Group (CDD) of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Common Data Model Working Group (CDM) of General Electric Company, and the China Smart Composite Materials Committee of the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), among others.

Ultrasound imaging, full waveform inversion, nondestructive evaluation, structural health monitoring, machine learning, and medical imaging.
