Wireless Sensing and Control for Large-Scale Smart Structures: Decentralized Approaches through Convex Optimization
Biography
Dr. Yang Wang is an assistant professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in 1998 and 2001, respectively, from the Department of Civil Engineering at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. At Stanford University, Dr. Wang completed his Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering in 2007, as well as an M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. His primary research interests include structural health monitoring and damage detection, optimal decentralized structural control, smart materials and structures, wireless sensor network, numerical simulation and advanced computing technologies, structural dynamics, and earthquake engineering. Dr. Wang is a member of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
