People Faculty Editor in Chief: International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials Professor Leng obtained his BSc and Ph.D. in the field of Engineering Mechanics and Composite Materials from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 1990 and 1996, respectively. From 1993 to 1998, he was an assistant professor, lecturer and associate professor at Harbin Institute of Technology, China. Then he joined Nanyang Technological University in Singapore as a research fellow from 1998 to 2000. From 2000 to 2002, he was a research fellow at Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Cranfield University. He worked at Photonics Research Group of Aston University in UK as a research fellow from 2002 to 2004. Currently, he is a full professor and group leader at Center for Composite Materials and Structures of Harbin Institute of Technology, China. His present research interests include: Smart Structures, Electro-Active Polymer, Nanocomposite, Multifunctional materials, Shape Memory Polymer and Composite, Macro-fibre composite (MFC), Fibre Optic Sensors, Structural Health Monitoring, Morphing structures, Deployable Space Structures, Active vibration control, Photonics, etc. He is authority in many relative fields, and has authored or co-authored over 160 scientific papers, 2 books, 9 patents, and delivered more than 13 invited talks around the world. He also served as Chairman and member of Scientific Committees in international conferences and as Guest Editor in scientific journals. He is member of SPIE, AIAA and ASCE. He is also the chairman of Asia-Pacific Committee on Smart and Nano Materials (APCSNM). Since 2009, Prof. Leng was appointed as the Editor in Chief of International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials ( Taylor & Francis). Prof. Yanju Liu Email: yj_liu@hit.edu.cn Professor Liu obtained her Ph.D. degree in the field of Materials from Centre for Composite Materials & Structures of HIT, China in 1999. From 1999 to 2005, she was a research fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Newcastle University and Intelligent Sensor Systems Ltd., successively. She has been involved in the research of smart materials and structures for a long time, including electro & magneto rheological Fluid and their application devices (damper, isolator, clutch and tactile display), electroactive polymer (EAP) and its applications, shape memory polymers (SMPs) and their nanocomposites. Until now, she has authored or co-authored 4 issued patents, and over 100 scientific papers in different journals and conference proceedings. Prof. Liu also serves as reviewer of some international journals, such as "Smart Materials and Structures", "Composite Science and Technology", "Optics and Lasers in Engineering", "Displays", etc.

He obtained his PhD in the field of Engineering Mechanics and Composite Materials from Harbin Institute of Technology, China in 2004. From 2004 to 2006 he was an assistant professor, lecturer. Currently, he is an associate professor at Center for Composite Materials and Structures of Harbin Institute of Technology, China. His present research interests include: Composites manufacturing process simulation and monitoring, Structural Health Monitoring, Morphing structures, etc. He has authored or co-authored over 20 scientific papers, and has 3 patents.
